Proposed regulatory action levels for MTBE range from 20 to 200 gg/L,and little <br /> information is available about the health effects of exposure to MTBE. <br /> 1 <br /> Remediation Progress <br /> The remediation system consists of two AS/SVE well pairs,two multiple completion <br /> monitoring well cluster(NP-1 and NP-2),two multi-purpose wells,a sparging blower,a <br /> vapor extraction blower,and a set of two granular-activated carbon vessels in series;prior <br /> j to the activated carbon vessels the AS/SVE system operated with an internal combustion <br /> engine. The AS/SVE system operated from February 1995 through February 1996 and <br /> removed approximately 9,000 pounds of TPH as gasoline from the source area. The <br /> AS/SVE system was shut down in February 1996 due to rising water levels that encroached <br /> 1 the extent of the SVE well screens.
