One sirup boring, SP1, will
be advanced to groundwater which is expected to be encountered at approximately 40 feet below
ground surface(bgs) The proposal indicated that soil samples would be collected from each soil
boring at four foot intervals beginning at 8 feet bgs with the first sample collected at 12 fret bgs..
Please note that soil contamination was evidenced at:8 feet bgs therefore, PHS/EHD recommends
that you begin collecting soil samples at 8 feet bgs rather than collecting the first soil sample at 12 feet
bgs. The work pint Stated that selected soil samples would undergo laboratory analysis. Please -
contact PHSIEHD to discuss the selection of soil samples which will undergo;laboratory analysis, so
that sufficient soil samples will undergo analysis to characterize the extent of soil contamination.
Also.since two tanks were previously located on site, the locations sof both tanks should be clearly
Indicated on site maps:
Once PHS/EHD has received the appropriate permit fees;:PHSIEHD will issue the drilling permit, and
youmy proceed with scheduling the proposed field wont. Please contact PHS/EHD at least two
working days prior to initiating field activities, so that PHS/EHD.may schedule site inspections.
if l c >'any questions;or to schedule a site inspection, Please do ndt.h66It6te WedtilAdt me at
(209)468-0337:
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
EnvironmenW Health Ikon
Mary Miaaya, Senor RENS MargatLagod
REHS
5itie lllOn.Unit Supervisor
MM/'I116F1R VtiifJR
cc; E{izaboth Theyeri CVRV=S
M.
