6 Recommendations
Based on review of the laboratory analytical results generated as part of the TBA, the following
recommendations are presented:
• Naturally occurring concentrations of arsenic in site soil may pose an unacceptable health
risk to workers and the public during and after redevelopment. Best management
practices should be implemented during redevelopment planning and construction to
minimize exposure of workers and the public to site soil.
• Groundwater throughout the site should not be used for any purpose due primarily to the
TPH-d contamination and also to the TPH-g, MTBE, and 1,2-DCA contamination in the
vicinity of boring EC2-09 unless a remediation system is constructed to treat the water.
• Groundwater analysis on site should be further evaluated to delineate the plume of TPH-d
contamination.
6-1
