ALTH
ROY F.WESTON,INC. „ G a,t('
6400 CANOGA AVENUE } ice
SUITE 100
WOODLAND HILLS,CA 9 67 ! ?
MANAGERSMDESIGNERS/CONSULTANTS O (818)596 6900 —0,
tt t L
Mr. Steve Sasson, R.E.H.S. 5 August 1994
Senior Registered Environmental Health Specialist
San Joaquin County
Public Health Services
445 N. San Joaquin Street
Stockton, California 95201
Subject: Preliminary Investigation Report for Hyponex Corporation Site Located at
23390 Flood Road, Linden, California.
Dear Mr. Sasson:
Roy F. Weston, Inc. (WESTON), on behalf of The O.M. Scott & Sons Company (Scotts),
is pleased to present the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD)
with this Phase II Soil Investigation Report for the Hyponex Corporation's blending and
bagging plant at the above referenced address. This Phase II Report was prepared in
accordance with the Site Contamination Workplan (SCW) dated 30 March 1994 and
subsequently approved by the EHD. The objective of the soil investigation was to evaluate
and delineate the possible presence of total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) as diesel in the
soil at the subject property.
Based on the results of the soil investigation performed by WESTON at the subject property
on 26 and 27 April 1994 the following conclusions were determined:
• Depth to groundwater in the vicinity of the subject property is greater than
170 feet below ground surface (bgs); and
• Analytical results from the sampling indicate that there is no detectable
petroleum impact to the soil in the area sampled.
Based on the analytical results and depth to groundwater information, WESTON
recommends the following:
• No additional field activities be undertaken regarding the former underground
storage tanks at this site;
• San Joaquin County EHD formally close this case and remove the Hyponex
site as a Leaking Underground Storage Tank site.
sca\mumyc\b:\saAU\linden\siteplan\ehdfnl.itr
