All of the analytical
results of the soil samples taken beneath the three underground
storage tanks that were removed from this site in August 1990 have
not been submitted to this office to date.
Total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel were detected at 2100 parts
per million in the soil beneath the diesel tank. PHS/EHD staff
present during the tank removals noted odor and discoloration to
the soil beneath the gasoline tank. Therefore, an "Underground
Storage Tank Unauthorized Release (Leak) /Contaminated Site Report"
was filed pursuant to Section 25180.7 of the Health and Safety
Code.
The site cannot be recommended for final closure without further
investigation to determine the full extent of the soil and/or
groundwater problem. Should you wish to mitigate the contamination
documented at your facility, PHS/MM has been designated by the
State of California Water Resources Control Board as the local
agency overseeing the investigation of leaking underground storage
tanks. Contact the PHS/EHD Site Mitigation Unit for further
information regarding this matter at (209) 468-3450.
Jogi Khanna, M.D. , M.P.H.
Health Officer
Donna Heran, REHS, Program Manager
Environmental Health Division
DH/ML
A Dftion of San Joaqun County Health CAre Sery Ci
