Giottonini
Page 2
T
Section 4.1.2 of the workplan indicates that there will be no soil sampling below static groundwater. In
order to calculate the mass balance of contaminants in the soil plume the vertical extent of the soil
contamination should be determined. A below groundwater soil sample will be necessary to determine
the vertical extent of soil contamination. This soil sample should be obtained from SB-2 and should be
obtained from a minimum depth of 14 feet.
f
A drilling permit issued by PHS/EHD is required prior to implementation of the workplan.
Fire Stations
Work plans to initiate the investigation of the contamination that was evidenced at the time of tank
removal will be submitted for each of the sites by May 28, 1996.
The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 6, 1996 at 1:30 p.m. and will be held at the PHS/EHD
office.
Should you have any questions or disagree with this summary, please contact either Mary Meays at (209) 468-
0337, Steve Sasson at (209) 468-3459, or Linda Turkatte at (209) 468-3441.
i
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Mary Meays, Semor REHS Margaret Lagono, REHS
Site Mitigation Unit Lead Senior
MM\COS
c: Elizabeth Thayer, CVRWQCB
c: Jim Escobar, COS Public Works
c: Stephen Chen, COS Public Works
c: Bob Murdoch
p
i
i
i
i
1
