SMITH CANAL WELL ABANDONMENT <br /> Scope of Services <br /> 1. Remove and salvage pump and motor. Well casing to "remain <br /> intact . Controls and power supply will be disconnected by <br /> City prior to start of work. <br /> 2. Measure static water level and total depth of the well. <br /> The measurements shall be transmitted in a letter to the <br /> Municipal Utilities Department.. <br /> 3 . Secure well with a removable water-tight cover. Cover <br /> shall be bolted in place and shall, when removed,- allow <br /> access to the well for testing purposes . <br /> 4. Pump well @ 300 gpm for 6 continuous hours or as approved <br /> by the Engineer, if well output is less than 300 gpm. <br /> Duration of pumping will not exceed 6 continuous hours . <br /> City will provide electric service at existing control <br /> panel for contractor' s use. <br /> 5 . Salvaged pump and motor shall be delivered by Contractor <br /> to a location at the Regional Wastewater Control Facility, <br /> 2500 Navy Drive, Stockton. Delivery shall be made between <br /> 8 :00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on" a working day for the City. <br /> 6 . All removed material other than the pump and motor shall <br /> be removed and disposed of off-site by the Contractor. <br /> 7. Included in the bid, the Contractor is to provide a <br /> salvage value for the pump and motor. If the Citylelects <br /> to retain the pump and motor, the Contractor shall be paid <br /> the full amount of the bid. If the City elects to allow <br /> the -pump and motor to become the property of the <br /> Contractor, the salvage value will be deducted from the <br /> bid amount at the time of final payment to the Contractor. <br /> 8 . Contractor shall cooperate with Pacific Mechanical <br /> Corporation and their subcontractors while on-site at <br /> Smith Canal to prevent conflict with their activities . <br /> 9 . Contractor shall coordinate removal of the pump with <br /> Eleanor Ratliff, San Joaquin County Public Health <br /> Services , who wishes to be on-site at that time <br /> be reached at (209) 468-3454. <br /> RECOW <br /> 10.
