SMITH CANAL WELL ABANDONMENT Scope of Services 1. Remove and salvage pump and motor. Well casing to "remain intact . Controls and power supply will be disconnected by City prior to start of work. 2. Measure static water level and total depth of the well. The measurements shall be transmitted in a letter to the Municipal Utilities Department.. 3 . Secure well with a removable water-tight cover. Cover shall be bolted in place and shall, when removed,- allow access to the well for testing purposes . 4. Pump well @ 300 gpm for 6 continuous hours or as approved by the Engineer, if well output is less than 300 gpm. Duration of pumping will not exceed 6 continuous hours . City will provide electric service at existing control panel for contractor' s use. 5 . Salvaged pump and motor shall be delivered by Contractor to a location at the Regional Wastewater Control Facility, 2500 Navy Drive, Stockton. Delivery shall be made between 8 :00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on" a working day for the City. 6 . All removed material other than the pump and motor shall be removed and disposed of off-site by the Contractor. 7. Included in the bid, the Contractor is to provide a salvage value for the pump and motor. If the Citylelects to retain the pump and motor, the Contractor shall be paid the full amount of the bid. If the City elects to allow the -pump and motor to become the property of the Contractor, the salvage value will be deducted from the bid amount at the time of final payment to the Contractor. 8 . Contractor shall cooperate with Pacific Mechanical Corporation and their subcontractors while on-site at Smith Canal to prevent conflict with their activities . 9 . Contractor shall coordinate removal of the pump with Eleanor Ratliff, San Joaquin County Public Health Services , who wishes to be on-site at that time be reached at (209) 468-3454. RECOW 10.
