Dedicated disposable bailers with bottom-
emptying devices were used to collect samples from the wells. Field purge logs are presented in
Attachment 1.
LABORATORY ANALYSES
Collected groundwater samples were analyzed by Sequoia Analytical, a State-certified laboratory,
for total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel (TPHd) utilizing EPA method 8015 and for benzene,
toluene, ethyl benzene, and xylenes (BTEX) utilizing EPA method 8020. Analytical results are
summarized in Table 3. Laboratory data sheets and chain-of-custody documentation are included
in Attachment 2.
Laboratory results indicate that TPHd was detected in groundwater samples collected from all
wells at concentrations ranging from 90.4 parts per billion (ppb) in well MW1 to 8,890 ppb in
well MW4. TPHd detected in wells MW3, MW5, and MW6 was reported by the laboratory as an
unidentified hydrocarbon.
RECONMIENDATIONS
ATC recommends an additional quarterly monitoring event to better evaluate the site and monthly
monitoring of the skimmer. If free product is encountered in the skimmer, it will be removed
from the skimmer and stored on site. The next groundwater monitoring episode is scheduled to
be performed in October 2000 and will include sample collection from monitoring wells 1V1W1
through MW6.
I
wA62574.021quart1y3gmt2000.doc 2
