An employee owned company
SPECTRUM EXPLORATION, INC.
2365 Wigwam Drive
Stockton,CA 95205
(209)465-8712
October 6, 1997 (209)465-8773 FAX
PAYMENT
San Joaquin County Public Health Services RFr`FE1"Fr,
Attn: Mike Infurna OCT 0 9 1997
P.O. Box 2009
Stockton, Ca 95201 PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICES
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH CiVIS C7 u
Subject: 188 Frank West Circle Well Abandonment
Dear Mike:
Spectrum has been contracted by Station West Investors to pressure grout (3) monitoring wells at
the address above.
Our pressure grouting technique begins by installing tremie pipe inside the well casing and running
it to the bottom of the well. Grout is then pumped from the bottom of the casing to the surface
displacing any water that may be present in the well. The tremie pipe is then pulled from the well
and a pressure grouting devise is sealed to the top of the well casing with the weight of the drill rig.
The grout is then pumped through the sealing devise allowing it to be forced through the screened
interval of the well and into the filter pack. Our pumps are capable of creating 50 to 100 PSI which
is more than sufficient for this task.
After the pressure grouting is complete, the top 3-5 feet will be drilled out to the original boring
diameter and topped off with additional grout forming a mushroom cap.
Please call me if you have any questions regarding this procedure. Also, call me when this permit
has been approved at 209/465-8712.
Sincerely,
CTRUM EXPLORATION, INC.
Jim Kleinfelder
Manager
