KLEINFELDER
7 ASSUMPTIONS AND LIMITATIONS
7.1 ASSUMPTIONS
This workplan is based on the following assumptions:
• California Nuggets, Inc. will supply Kleinfelder with written authorization to
obtain access to the site to install and sample the wells.
• Adequate work space and access will be provided.
• The monitoring wells will be located based on the current sprayfield and retention
ponds as described to Kleinfelder for the preparation of this workplan. If the site
plan changes after well installation the effected monitoring well locations may
need to be abandoned and relocated.
• Kleinfelder has not reviewed any RWQCB documentation related to the subject
site and therefore, this workplan was developed based on usual request from the
RWQCB fora baseline assessment at similar sites. Therefore, Kleinfelder is not
responsible for potential omissions related to specific requests for a baseline
assessment workplan that the RWQCB may have documented for the subject site.
• Drilling/sampling derived wastes will be generated during the proposed
investigation. Excess drilling returns will not be contained and left on site. Water
generated during well development/purging/sampling and water derived from
equipment decontamination will not be contained and will be dispersed to the land
surface.
• California Nuggets, Inc. should be aware that penetrating the site's surface is
inherently risky. It is impossible to determine with certainty the precise location
of all structures (such as septic system tanks or leach fields) which may be buried
in the ground. Kleinfelder's fee is not adequate to compensate for both the
performance of the services and the assumption of risk of damage to such
structures. If the active septic system or utilities on site are damaged by our field
activities, repairs will be necessary in order to provide continued service. Repairs
are not included in Kleinfelder's fees.
• Underground Services Alert (USA) at 1-800-642-2444 provides a partial location
service free of charge for major utility lines. It is important that the client
understand that subsurface structures (such as the septic systems, irrigation lines,
leach fields, et cetera) buried under private property will not be marked by the
50890.E01/ST05R358/JDZ:ly Page 10 of 12
®2005,Kleinfelder,Inc.
