I
404 WEST FREMONT STREET
WKA No. 1628 .09
August 31 , 2001
Page 14
Operate application. The report will include an as-built process flow diagram, which will include
all sampling locations.
L ' An Emission Verification Report will be submitted within 15 days following the completion of the
compliance source tests and will include the following:
l _ I
• a summary of the source test
i
• an "as-built process flow diagram which will include sampling locations
• measurements reported in tabular form which include the date, time, operating parameters,
inlet and outlet flow rates, temperatures and TPH as gasoline and BTEX concentrations and
sample analysis data
l • modifications to the system design
! • adjustments of the operating parameters (i.e. temperature, flow rate, etc.)
- • well head vapor flow rate or extraction rate in acfin
• calculation of emission rate in lbs/day
• calculation of destruction efficiencies for TPH as gasoline and BTEX
[ ) • laboratory reports and chain-of-custody documentation
Once permit to operate of the treatment system has been received from SNAPCD, the system will
f
operate 24 hours a day for approximately 12 months from the time of start-up.
_I
Based upon the compiled data and previous experience with other SVES, we expect that analyses
of samples obtained from the system inlet will initially reveal a significant drop in contaminant
concentrations. This drop will be followed by a lessening rate of decreased petroleum hydrocarbon
concentrations, trending toward an asymptotic rate of petroleum hydrocarbon removal. When
Jsample results indicate that petroleum concentrations have stabilized, a surging process will be
implemented by cycling the S VES off for a period of ten days to two weeks. The S VES will be
j restarted and a sharp, but temporary increase in petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations should be
observed. The system will be operated until concentrations decrease and again stabilize, at which
Ir " time the procedure will be repeated. This surging procedure will increase the rate of contaminant
removal by allowing soil vapor pressure to equilibrate. The maximum soil air concentrations will
occur when the soil contamination is in equilibrium with the soil air. It should be noted that the air
E FnS0491 k5 INC.
