CRYSTAL CREAMERY - STOCKTON
S WKA No 1628 01
March 17, 1994
Page 3
S1 and S2 at depths of 14 and 12 feet, respectively Test results revealed TPH-gasoline
concentrations of 2241 mg/kg in sample S1, and 2 1 mg/kg in S2 Test results of a water
sample collected from well MW1 sometime between October 29 and November 11, 1986,
revealed a TPH-gasoline concentration of 11 58 mg/1 and a benzene concentration of
1 539 mg/f
On January 14, 1987, soil samples S-16-1, S-16-2, S-18-3, and S-18-5 were collected
during additional excavation of contaminated soil The samples were collected from
depths of 16 and 18 feet Test results revealed TPH-gasoline concentrations ranging from
0 8 mg/kg to 596 mg/kg
On July 29, 1987, the excavation was reportedly deepened to a depth of approximately 22
feet No record of soil sampling during this excavation is available The excavation was
reportedly backfilled with clean imported soil and the contaminated soils stockpiled on-
site
On January 13, 1988, a representative of AGS visited the site and used a portable soil
vapor laboratory to evaluate the lateral extent of hydrocarbon contamination in both the
soil and ground water Samples collected during the soil vapor procedure reported no
detectable levels of BTEX above a detection level of 2 parts per million (ppm) Results
of the soil vapor survey are included in an AGS report dated March 15, 1988
A January 11, 1991 AGS letter to Crystal Creamery reported that a composite sample of
the stockpiled soils had been analyzed for TPH-gasoline and BTEX Results of the
laboratory tests were below detection levels The stockpiled soils were removed at the
request of Crystal Creamery and transported to Holt Dump near Stockton
Additional work has been completed at the site by Wallace Kuhl & Associates, Inc (WKA) and
is summarized below
UVALI.ACC- KUHL
H,,U J p"p" r=ASSOCIATES INC
