K" KLEIN(ELDER
File No. 20-3363-01
July 26, 1990
DO-
J U L 3 0 1900
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
PERMIT/SERVICES
ITEM C-3 :
"The depth and gradient of the groundwater table. "
During our residence surveys on June 28 , 1990, we were
able to measure groundwater in 1 well . The groundwater
was measured at 137 feet below existing ground surface.
Regional groundwater maps published by the San Joaquin
County Flood Control and Water Conservation District,
Plate II, indicate groundwater in this area was
approximately 140 feet below existing ground surface in
the fall of 1989.
We note that natural drainage channels are present on the
property. In addition, a low area near the trailer was
reported to hold standing water during the rainy season.
We recommend that current flood maps be reviewed prior
to construction on the parcels to determine the areas
that may be subjected to flooding.
Based on County requirements, due to the main groundwater
level below 65 feet deep, we are not required to
establish an on-site groundwater gradient. We are
providing a general estimate of the main groundwater
gradient based on the published maps. Based on the
groundwater map showing lines of equal elevation of
groundwater, Plate III, we conclude that the main
groundwater gradient is in roughly the southwest
direction.
4
