Fremont St.
Stockton, CA 95201
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD ) has reviewed Well
Installation and Feasibility Studies Report (Report) dated June 12 , 2009, prepared by
your consultant, Advanced Geo Environmental , Inc. (AGE). In the report, AGE discusses
the installation of one groundwater extraction (GWE) well (EW-1 ), one soil vapor
extraction (SVE) well (VW- 1 ) , two GWE observation wells (013- 1 and 013-2), and two
SVE observation wells (OW- 1 and 013-2), and pilot tests that were conducted for SVE
and GWE
In the report, AGE concludes that GWE is not a feasible option due to insufficient
recharge in EW- 1 and recommends performance of SVE remediation utilizing the current
well network, and performance of an in-situ air sparging (IAS) pilot test. The EHD
concurs with AGE's recommendation ; you may submit a work plan to the EHD to
conduct a pilot test for IAS and implementation of SVE remediation.
To comply with the recently adopted State Water Resources Control Board Resolution
#2009-0042, the EHD hereby modifies the monitoring well sampling requirements for
MW-1 , 013- 1 , OB-2 , and EW-1 to semi-annually and MW-2 though MW-8 to biennially.
