The <br /> plan is a proposal to extract petroleum hydrocarbon contaminant vapor <br /> from the soil and break down petroleum hydrocarbon contaminants in soil <br /> and groundwater using in -situ air sparging and soil vapor extraction . <br /> Contaminants in the extracted vapor will be removed by a catalytic <br /> oxidation system that destroys volatile organic hydrocarbons . <br /> The EHD has made a tentative determination that the plan is in compliance <br /> with California Health & Safety Code Chapter 6 . 7 , Section 25299 . 37 and <br /> California Code of Regulation Corrective Action Requirements , and that the <br /> resultant work will not create significant adverse environmental impacts <br /> which exceed the benefits to be gained from cleanup of the contamination . <br /> The remediation plan is available for public review at the EHD office , 600 <br /> East Main Street, Stockton during normal working hours , 8 : 00 a . m . to <br /> 5 : 00 p . m . <br /> Final approval for the plan is scheduled for April 30 , 2012 . <br /> Questions should be directed to Vicki McCartney , Senior REHS , at (209 ) <br /> 468 -9852 or sent in writing to her at the EHD , 600 East Main Street, <br /> Stockton , California 95202 . <br />
