' Quarterly Report - First Quarter 2004 <br /> GUARDINO AND CRAWFORD <br />' 517 West Fremont Street, Stockton, California <br />' 10. INTRODUCTION <br />' At the request of Guardmo and Crawford Construction,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) <br /> has prepared this quarterly report for 517 West Fremont Street, Stockton, California(the site) The <br /> site and its surroundings are illustrated on Figure 1 Structures,boring and monitoring well locations <br />' are shown on Figure 2 Additional site background information is provided in Appendix A <br /> 20 PROCEDURES <br /> Six ground water monitoring wells were purged and sampled on 24 March 2004 Field work was <br />' performed in accordance with San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) - <br /> approved Site Assessment Work Plan Addendum, dated 07 May 1998, and Work Plan Addendum, <br /> dated 04 February 2001, both prepared by AGE This quarterly report has been prepared in <br />' accordance with Central ValleyRegional Water Quality Control Board(CVRWQCB)guidelines for <br /> investigations of underground storage tank (UST) sites <br />' • 2 1 WELL MONITORING AND EVACUATION <br />' A Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water in the six monitoring <br /> wells relative to the tops of the well casings The ground water elevations and gradient were <br />' determined from these data (Table 1) <br /> After recording water level measurements, new dedicated disposable plastic bailers were used to <br /> evacuate(purge)each monitoring well of standing water Approximately 5 0 to 9 75 gallons of water <br /> (minimum of casing-water volumes)were removed from wells MW-1,MW-2,MW-3,MW-4 and <br /> MW-6 and 5 25 gallons of water were removed from well MW-5 before it was purged dry Ground <br />' water temperature,pH and conductivity were measured at regular intervals during purging using an <br /> Oakton water analyzer Field sheets and data are included in Appendix B Purged water was stored <br /> on-site in labeled, 55-gallon DOT-approved drums <br /> 2 2 COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES <br /> J Prior to collection of ground water samples,the depth to ground water was measured in each purged <br /> well to ensure that a minimum of 80%of the initial well volume had recharged Then a water sample <br />' was collected from each purged well using the dedicated disposable plastic bailer Each water sample <br /> • was transferred into three 40-m1 volatile organic analysis (VOA) vials containing 0 5 ml 18% <br /> hydrochloric acid as a sample preservative After collection, the samples were properly labeled, <br /> 1 Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
