Apex proposes to perform a maximum of two days of subsurface probe <br /> E investigation resulting in subsurface samples from 8 - 12 selected locations around the site, <br /> including both former underground tank locations and the compressor sump location. <br /> Soil and 'groundwater sampling on the site will be conducted using a probe rig. Soil core <br /> samplings is conducted using 5-foot sections of decontaminated 314-inch I.D. galvanized steel <br /> probe pipe. The probe pipe is connected to a 1--foot, 314-inch diameter, galvanized steel soil <br /> core'turbe: Stainless steel decontaminated insert rods are placed through the probe pipe <br /> and sa�n <br /> plina-core,,The;probe;pipe,,soil,core.and insert.rods are together. pneumaticaIly� <br /> driven toi-the depth the soil core is desired. The insert rods are removed and the probe pipe <br /> and coretube is driven one foot to obtain the soil core sample. The probe pipe containing <br /> the soil core sample is removed from the hole and the soil sample is disconnected from the <br />� Probe iP!`ie. • The ends of the core are sealed using teflon tape and plastic end caps. <br /> Groundwater sampling is conducted using a 6-foot section of decontaminated 314-inch LD. <br /> .i..: <br /> perforated or slotted galvanized steel probe pipe. The perforated probe pipe is connected <br /> h; <br /> to five foot sections of probe pipe, as required: Decontaminated insert rods are placed <br /> through ;the probe pipe and pneumatically driven into the aquifer or 'saturated 'zone. <br /> Groundwater samples are collected using decontaminated stainless steel bailers and placed <br />� i:- <br /> into sam;ple containers provided by the analytical laboratory.
