Fremont Street.
Stockton, CA
San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health
Division (PHS/EHD) has recently reviewed the underground storage
tank (UST) file for the above referenced site.
A 500 gallon unleaded gasoline UST was removed from the site in
February 1988 and a soil sample was obtained from beneath the UST
at that time. The depth at . which the sample was obtained was 13
feet below grade:: The analytical results of the soil sample
indicated petroleum hydrocarbon contamination of 1000 parts per
million. Depth to groundwater in this area is 15 feet below grade.
Therefore, a groundwater investigation is required for this. site.
In addition, remediation of the contaminate& soil is required.
Should you decide to investigate and remediate the contamination at
this site a work plan. for the installation of a minimum of
three
monitoring wells should be submitted to the Site Mitigation Unit of
PHS/EHD.
An "Underground Storage Tank' Unauthorized Release (Leak) /
Contaminated Site Report" has been filed pursuant to Section
25180.7 of the Health and Safety Code. PHS/EHD is the local agency
overseeing the investigation of leaking UST' s.
