3. A "zero" line has not been fully defined to the north and
northeast, and there are insufficient data at this time to define
the size and direction(s) of the plume.
4. Additional work will be required to define the lateral extent
of groundwater contamination.
QMMNDATIONS
1 . It is recommended that quarterly sampling of wells #1 & #3 be
discontinued; they have not shown any contamination since
monitoring began. Quarterly water sampling should continue in
well #2 until conditions change_ Water level measurements should
continue in all three wells to determine gradient direction; if
major changes occur, sampling of wells #1 & #3 should be done,
again.
2. Spoil that was returned to site of the UST should be removed,
along with any additional contamination that may be encountered.
The site should then be filled with clean material, covered with
asphalt, and restored to its' original condition. A program to
accomplish that task is being prepared, and will be submitted to
the County EHD as soon as bids are received, and necessary
permits obtained.
3. One (1) - additional monitoring well should be placed in a
downgradi.ent position in an attempt to define the limits of the
plume in that direction. We are in the process of soliciting
bids from qualified contractors, & are preparing a workplan to
accomplish that task. We are planning to complete the task of
overexcavation first; the information obtained may be useful for
determining the location of monitoring well #4.
Please do not hesitate to contact our office if you require
addJi/tio ormation.
W
Wm.
