Woodbridge Design Guideh—s <br /> Chapter 1-Introduction ' <br /> SECTION 1.3 <br /> GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE <br /> WOODBRIDGE DESIGN GUIDELINES <br /> The goals and objectives of the Woodbridge Design Guidelines are as follows: <br /> • Establish a stronger sense of place by emulating the historic character of <br /> the District. <br /> • Ensure the preservation of designated historic resources. <br /> • Promote modification to historic structures that is in keeping with the <br /> original historic style. <br /> • Facilitate safe and convenient pedestrian circulation throughout the <br /> District. <br /> • Promote harmony in the visual relationships and transitions between new <br /> and older buildings. <br /> • Create a historic streetscape appearance for Lower Sacramento Road <br /> through unified setbacks, landscaping, building replacement, building <br /> orientation, and architectural style. <br /> • Establish a design review process to ensure project compatibility with the <br /> provisions of the Special Purpose Plan. <br />
