C9.0 DECONTAMINATION PROCEDURES <br /> 1 If the PID readings indicate respirator use (15,ppm over background in the <br /> C; OBZ for more than one minute) , the following s 11 teps will be followed whenever <br /> personnel leave the exclusion zone/work area: i <br /> 'I <br /> j 1. Remove all equipment, sample containers, and notes to the CRZ. , <br /> Obtain decontamination solutions and decon the shovels, auger <br /> rflights, etc. by brushing them under water rinse. A high-pressure <br /> steam cleaner may also be used for decon. All waste and spent decon <br /> solutions will be properly contained. <br /> { 2. Scrub boots and gloves with a stiff bristle brush and water. <br /> rWashtubs and chairs will be provide',d. <br /> 3. Remove outer gloves and boot covers if used . <br /> 4. Wash hands and face. }: <br /> 'r <br /> The decontamination area will be covered with plastic sheeting which will <br /> be replaced when torn or heavily soiled, and at the end of each shift. A <br /> P Y <br /> schematic of a "Minimum Layout of Personnel Decontamination Station" is provided <br /> in the Attachments for reference. <br /> rEach worker will be responsible for cleanilng, sanitizing and storing their <br /> L� own respirator in accordance with manufacturer's guidance (i.e. , washing in warm <br /> water and detergent or sanitizing solution, air 'drying, and storing in a plastic <br />{ storage bag; see Attachments) . Cartridges swill] be changed as soon as <br /> breakthrough occurs (detection of organic vaporodor while wearing the <br /> respirator) and at the end of each shift.
