� I <br />' Chemically analyze the diesel dispenser soil samples for the following constituents: � <br /> i Diesel by EPA 8015M. <br /> • Chemically analyze the UNL 1 dispenser soil samples for the following constituents: <br /> ■ MTBE by EPA 8260B. <br /> Figure 5 shows the locations of the two proposed soil probes. It is proposed to use Direct Push (DP) <br /> technology to advance the soil probes. Additional soil samples may also be collected and analyzed if high k <br /> i <br /> PID concentrations are measured. <br /> i <br /> A log of the soil probe, to include soil descriptions and sample information, will be prepared in the field. A <br /> chain-of-custody will be completed to identify and ensure traceability of the collected samples. Examples } <br /> of these blank forms are provided in Appendix C. The probe holes will be grouted to the surface with neat <br /> cement immediately following their completion. The upper one-foot of each probe hole will be backfilled <br /> I <br /> with concrete. The proposed investigation will be performed under the supervision of a registered <br /> geologist or engineer. Soil probing procedures are presented in Appendix D. <br /> i <br /> HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN <br /> I . <br /> Guidelines and procedures for field operations have been prepared in a Health and Safety Plan (HSP)to <br /> protect the work crew and the public. Details of the HSP, project contact information, and hospital <br /> directions in the event of an emergency are provided in Appendix E. <br /> WASTE DISPOSAL PLAN <br /> Soil brought to the surface from the probing and water collected from the decontamination of the soil <br /> probing equipment will be placed into Department of Transportationi'(DOT)-approved containers at the <br /> service center. Disposal of these wastes will be conducted in accordance with federal, state, and local <br /> regulations. ! <br /> SOIL QUALITY REPORT <br /> Following completion of the field investigation and laboratory testing, a Soil Quality Report will be <br /> prepared. This report will present the results of the investigation including field observations, analytical <br /> i test results, and an assessment of the impact of the dispensers on the quality of the soil. 1 <br /> j PROPOSED SCHEDULE <br /> Fieldwork will be performed within eight weeks of receiving agency approval of this workplan.
