1 <br /> FOOTHILL <br /> ' ENGINEERING <br /> 12793 PADDY CREEK LANE LODI CA 95240 <br /> PH (209) 368-9381 FAX (209) 367-1163 <br /> October 18, 2001 <br /> Mr Michael Infurna n <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> Environmental Health Division <br /> 304 E Weber Ave Third Floor <br /> Stockton, CA 95202 <br /> r7 <br /> Subject Connell Motor Truck Co - 2211 N Wilson Way Stockton CA 95205 <br /> CID <br /> Site Code 39-1304 Global ID T0607700812 <br /> RE Third Quarter 2001 Monitoring Well Sample Analysis Report <br /> Dear Mr Infurna <br /> Please find below the Third Quarter 2001 Monitoring Well Sample Analysis Report of findings and <br /> recommendations for the above stated property <br /> HISTORY OF UST REMOVAL,OVER-EXCAVATION,AND PLUME DELINEATION <br /> On June 11, 1998, the three USTs on this site were removed by Jim Thorpe Oil, Inc of Lodi, California <br /> under PHS/EHD permit and oversight Asper the work plan for the removal,soil samples were extracted <br /> and analyzed for BTEX,TPHgas,TPHdiesel, and Oxygenates The analysis indicated the soil under and <br /> near the dispensers was contaminated with both gasoline and diesel The soil underneath and surrounding <br /> the three USTs was analyzed as non-detect for all compounds The tank excavation was backfilled with <br /> onsite pea gravel <br /> Over-excavation of the dispenser area was started and suspended on December 10, 1998 with less than 50% <br /> of the planned work completed The excavated area was backfilled with pea-gravel and the excavated soil <br /> was stockpiled on the site Work was suspended due to the discovery of a large volume of contaminated soil <br /> found below and adjacent to the pump islands The test results from Sherwood Labs indicated that the <br /> petroleum contamination was old and highly degraded Due to the extent of the petroleum contamination, <br /> the PHS-EHD ordered a delineation of the contaminating plume and a ground water investigation <br /> Vertical and Horizontal Delineation of Plume History <br /> Monitoring Wells MW#1,MW#2,and MW#3 were installed in September of 1999 to a depth of sixty feet <br /> Soil samples from the soil bores were extracted at five foot intervals from a depth often feet to sixty feet(see <br /> site map for location attached) All three soil bores produced samples above detection levels for BETX and <br /> TPHg and TPHd (see Soil Sample Recap Attached) <br /> 1 <br />
