"The property "owners are .exploring a potential <br /> -sale of the subject property"arid desire.site closure-certification. Canonie/Smith Environmental <br /> -_'Technologies Corporation" (SMTH) was`contracted by the property owners to complete a <br /> Ik n Aimited environmental assessment to satisfy PHS/EHD requirements for site closure. <br /> ":'SITE-BACKGROUND = <br /> It is SMTH's understanding that a 2000,gallon-underground.leaded gasoline storage tank was <br /> removed from the site in"December 1988.. The site was excavated to a depth of approximately <br /> "14 feet below grade. Od-Deceinber 5, 1988,' -one-soil sample was collected from each end of <br /> -the tank at a depth of approkimately .14 feet below grade. According the chain of custody, the <br /> samples were received by FGL-Environmental Laboratory in "sealed condition" on December <br /> 7, _1988. Analytical reports were prepared,-by the -laboratory on December 20, 1988. <br /> Laboratory analyses of'the samples detected toluene at 27 parts per billion (ppb). in both <br /> r samples and total lead at 8.and.10 .parts per million (ppm)," respectively. Copies of laboratory <br /> reports and chain of custody documentation are included.in-Attachment.1. <br /> T Analytical results'of soil samples 'collected from beneath. the "tank indicated that no significant <br /> v soil -or groundwater contamination was present beneath "the former tank. However, in <br /> -correspondence dated January-6, "1992 PHS/EHD.stated that although the site is not considered <br /> contaminated site closure certification could not be provided without"further site investigation. <br /> - =Ms.' Lagorio stated .in a telephone conversation to RESNA-Industries Inc.'
