Soil Suitability/Nitrate Loading Study Irerracon
Gribaudo Property ■Acampo, CA
November 12, 2019 ■ Terracon Project No. NA197081
Table 3.
USDA Soil Types.
Map Symbol Name Percent of Site Location
101 Acampo sandy loam 92.5 Across majority of the site
111 Bruella sandy loam 0.30 Northwest corner of APN 017-260-31
157 Exeter sandy loam 7.2 Along northeastern boundary of APN
017-260-30
Based on the USDA soil map, the percolation test boring locations are located within Acampo
sandy loam soils. According to the USDA Soil Survey of San Joaquin County (1992), Acampo
sandy loam soils consist of moderately well drained soils with 0 to 2 percent slopes. Typical soil
profiles consist of 0 to 47 inches sandy loam and 47 to 60 inches cemented soils. The main
limititations for this soil type include depth to hardpan. For homesites with septic systems, ripping
the hardpan may improve permeability.
1.5.1 Soil Boring Locations
The soil boring locations were selected by Mr. Vlach. The percolation test boring (B1) and soil
profile boring (B2) were placed near the existing leachfield south of the residence APN 017-260-
31. Percolation test boring B3 and soil profile boring B4 were placed near the northwestern
portion of APN 017-260-30.
Table 4.
Soil Boring Locations.
Boring Depth Latitude Longitude Location APN
No. Feet
61 3.25 38.189445 -121.188945 18 feet south of residence,43 feet 017-260-31
Percolation Test Boring east of Sowles Rd
B2 9.0 38.189439 -121.188897 10 feet east of 61 017-260-31
Soil Profile
B3 3.25 38.189548 -121.186870 80 feet south of Peltier Road 017-260-30
Percolation Test Boring
B4 5.5 38.189503 -121.186859 90 feet south of Peltier Road south 017-260-30
Soil Profile I of B3
Refer to Appendix A, Exhibit 2 for the boring locations.
1.5.2 Soil Boring Dimensions
Soil borings B1 through B4 were advanced with a 4 inch diameter handauger. Refer to Section
1.5.1 for boring depths. Soil profile borings B2 and B4 were advanced until refusal.
1.5.3 Soil Lithology Observed
The following table presents a log of the soil boring(s).
Responsive■ Resourceful ■ Reliable 9
