1 INTRODUCTION
1.1 PURPOSE
The purpose of this preliminary design report is to provide the process design for The Wine Cup
Motor Coach Resort Wastewater Treatment Plant (WCMCRWWTP). This proposal consists of
three sections, including introduction, packaged WCMCRWWTP design, and unit process design.
The appendices include process design calculations, design drawings, and mechanical
equipment specifications. Gl
1.2 DESIGN BASIS
The WCMCRWWTP is designed and will be built to receive and dispose of the domestic sewage
from Wine Cup Motor Coach Resort, Acampo, California. Wine Cup Motor Coach Resort consists
of 52 standard space and 95 pull through spaces. The gated park will have 147 RV spots -
many of them designed to be large enough to accommodate exMnsive motor coaches - as well
as a swimming pool with waterfall, spa, sauna, clubhouse, exercise room, game room, small
grocery mini-mart, four shower/restroom buildings, laundry facilities and hook ups for water,
sewer, electricity, telephone, satellite TV and wireless Internet.
The average dry weather design flow for the WCMCRWWTP will be 25,000 gallons per day
(gpd). The design criteria is summarized in Table 1, based upon the information gathered from
the Client.
Table 1 Design Flow Conditions and Effluent Quality
ITEMS INFLUENT EFFLUENT
Average dry weather flow d 25 000
BODS (mg/L 350 10
TSS (mg/L 250 10
Turbidity NTU :52
TN (mg/L 10
TKN (mg/L 40
NH3-N (mg/L 25 2.0
Total Coliform (MPN) :52.2 colonies/100 mL in 7 days
:523 colonies/100 mL in any 30 days
:5100 colonies/100 mL in any sample
The WCMCRWWTP shall function to remove both organic matter (BODS) and the total nitrogen
(TN). Generally, the organic loading of the packaged wastewater treatment plant is based upon
a design average flow and is used for sizing the biological system.
