'TW-51
3 FACILITIES DESIGN
3.1 HEADWORKS
The raw sewage from the sewer system enters the WCMCRWWTP at the inlet lift station. There,
two submersible pumps are installed to deliver raw sewage to the packaged WWTP. Each pump
has a 80 gpm flow capacity and 20 ft TDH. The inlet screen unit functions to remove suspends,
grits, and FOG (fat, oil, and grease). The screen unit has the capability to handle 120 gpm.
The 1-inch Magmeter is installed behind the inlet screen unit for continuous flow
measurements.
3.2 MBBR SYSTEMS
This packaged MBBR system consists of an anoxic zone and an aerobic zone, these zones
functioning to remove organic matter (BODS), TSS, and nutrients (TN). Two identical trains will
be installed to meet the State requirements for biological wastewater treatments. The internal
recycle pump returns the flow from the end of the aerobic zone to the front of the anoxic zone,
for the purpose of nitrogen removal. This unit's process is designed based upon the following
procedures:
DETERMINATION OF ANOXIC ZONE VOLUME
__ QSo
V. X JF/M)
Where V.. = anoxic zone volume, gallons
FIM = food to microorganism ratio, g BODS/g MLVSS.d
Q = flowrate, gpd
So = influent BODS concentration, mg/L
Xb = anoxic zone biomass concentration, mg/L MLVSS
DETERMINATION OF INTERNAL RECYCLE RATIO OF ANOXIC ZONE
IR = NOx —1.0
Ne
Where IR = internal recycle ratio
NOX = nitrate produced in aeration zone, mg NO3-N/L
Ne = effluent NO3-N concentration, mg NO3-N/L
DETERMINATION OF AEROBIC ZONE VOLUME
V =
QSo
XMLvss(F/M)
Wine Cup Motor Coach Resort WWTP Page 5 of 10 8/22/2007
Preliminary Design Report
