RECEIVED
Request for Private Property Variance OCT 18 2019
October 17, 2019 ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
Owner:James A. Nunes PERMIT/SERVICES
Location: 11600 E. Ada Avenue, Stockton CA. 95215
1 James Nunes, property owner of 11600 E. Ada Avenue, Stockton Ca. have been advised to request a
variance for the septic system that has been installed (REF. Permit#SR0080577).
Below is a detailed list of corrections and variances to the original diagram received from the SJC Health
Department (Attachment A.)
Issue 1.
Length of Leach Lines
• Leach lines initially installed at 77ft of perforated pipe losing footage due to coupling
• Corrected variance by adding an addition 3ft of perforated pipe to meet 80 ft requirement.
Issue 2.
Depth of leach lines
• County requires% inch per ft. drop in depth from house (ground level)to septic tank.
• Septic tank is 57ft away from residence which determines total depth of leach lines.
• 2 ft of drainage rock placed below leach lines (1ft. more then required) and per the diagram
provided by SJC Health Department (Attachment A. not clearly communicated open to
interpretation) added 1 ft of drainage rock covering the leach lines.
• Since the initial inspection, 1ft of drainage rock above the leach lines has been removed.
Issue 3.
Seepage Pits (Attachment B)
• Depth of seepage pits are 25 ft from ground level and was advised to cap perforated pipe going
into the seepage pit. 4ft of drainage rock has been placed at the bottom of the seepage pits and
installed capped piping and drainage rock. The perforated pipe extends 17ft into the seepage
pit.
• Installed 90degree elbow fitting in leu of a T fitting which has been replaced with the correct
fitting since initial inspection
Issue 4.
Ground Cover
• Property has 6 to 9 inches of topographic differences
• To achieve correct percentage of drainage and maintain 150 ft away from well for seepage pit
16 ft solid piping added from the perforated piping to the seepage pit. With differences in
ground levels there will be 28-36 inches of cover.
If the above corrections and variances (Attachment C. Diagram with corrections and variance after initial
inspection) do not fall within guidance below is a secondary option I can do without incurring extreme
financial hardship (Attachment D.)
