Weber Street Mr
Stockton, CA 95201 0
W
Pro sed Groundwater Treatment Plan Site Code 22073
Van den Bergh Foods Company Stockton
Dear Ms. Meays:
On behalf of Van den Bergh Foods Company, we have attached our proposed treatment plan
for the groundwater at the subject site, pursuant to your request. During the second quarter
1996 .groundwater sampling (May 1996), no detectable concentrations of TPH as diesel in the
groundwater were measured. However, you had expressed concern that the TPH as diesel
concentrations detected in soil at depth (<1,000 mg/kg) could significantly impact the
groundwater quality at the site. Due to your concern, we are proceeding with the subject
plan, to mitigate any potential impact to groundwater.
We are proposing to use ORC® "filter socks" to increase the dissolved oxygen levels in the
groundwater and thereby enhance the biodegradation of TPH as diesel that was detected in
groundwater. We plan to install the ORO filter socks on Thursday, August 22, 1996.
Should this date conflict with your schedule, please contact us as soon as possible.
We appreciate your cooperation in this matter. Should you have any questions, please call
me at (510) 372-5253.
Sincerely,
Linus Farias
Project Manager
Enclosure
cc: Ms. Elizabeth Thayer, Central Valley RWQCB
Mr. Frank Yoneshige, Van den Bergh Foods Co.
Mr. Bud Kopp, Van den Bergh Foods Co:
IT Corporation is a wholly owned subsidiary of Internotionai Technology Carparahon
