(BP) is conducting an environmental investigation of <br /> the former BP-branded bulk terminal located at 3505 Navy Drive, Stockton, <br /> California. BP would like your help to find out if gasoline from the terminal is <br /> present in groundwater beneath your property. Your signature on this letter will <br /> grant BP access to your property and permission to conduct a portion of the <br /> environmental investigation requested by the California Regional Water Quality <br /> Control Board, Central Valley Region. <br /> As part of our investigation, BP proposes to collect groundwater samples <br /> by drilling eight (8) exploratory borings at the locations shown on the attached <br /> figure. <br /> If you agree to let BP and its contractor drill on your property, BP will do <br /> the following: <br /> • BP will do this work at no cost to you. <br /> • BP will obtain your approval of the exploratory borings locations prior to <br /> installation. Proposed locations for the exploratory borings are shown on <br /> the enclosed site plan. <br /> • BP will provide you with the results of the work and information about <br /> BP's environmental investigation. <br /> • BP will protect you from any claims for personal injury or property <br /> damage caused by BP or its contractor during the work. <br /> • If gasoline from BP's operations of the BP Site is found on your property, <br /> BP will take all action required by government authorities at our expense. <br /> • BP will restore the surface areas of your property which are disturbed by <br />
