S.A. , R. L. Schafer and
Associates have developed a .revised soil assessment workplan for
the Chevron USA" property investigation on -:— Street in
Stockton. The - revision is provided in response to a checklist
utilized by your staff to present ' purported deficiencies in the
original document . The revised workplan is enclosed for your
review. We hope this meets with your approval .
We would like to comment on one checklist deficiency in
particular. Specifically, your staff found that the report
a lacked an adequate site map that portrayed the location of the
underground storage tanks, piping and other appurtenances. We
find the request somewhat difficult to comply with inasmuch as
the tanks were' removed in 1987.. We submitted a detailed drawing
showing distances from various surface features .where the. tanks
used to be, but evidently this information was somehow overlooked
or not considered relevant . uest arification of' the
need to provide this information •`lf~3'- '-CI
The last item we need to inform you and your staff on is some of
the changes in. personnel involved, in. this project. Schafer and
Associates is still the lead consultant but Waterwork consulting
engineers and geologists have replaced John Minney/Absolute
Testing . as the geotechnical specialists. Waterwork is
headquartered in Escalon and therefore can provide closer
✓ supervision of the implementation phase of the investigation,.
Additionally, the diation contract r will be Scrivner
.Environmental Services of oa 3nga. Their representative is Don
Smith.
Should you have any questions on this matter, please call me.
