-P <br /> MAP F <br /> F <br /> L",Working to Restore Nature <br /> JUN 3 1992 <br /> 1710 Main Street ENVIRONIV NTAL HEALTH <br /> Escalon, CA 95320 PERPb`[tT�SEF'I��lCES <br /> Phone (209) 838-3507 <br /> FAX (209)838-3509 June 2, 1992 <br /> Harlin Knoll <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> Environmental Health Division <br /> P O Box 2009 <br /> Stockton, California 95201 <br /> RE Chevron U S A Production/Carnation Plant <br /> 540 North Aurora Way, Stockton, CA <br /> Dear Mr Knoll <br /> This letter updates RESNA Industries First Quarter 1992 activities at the above referenced site <br /> (Figure 1) <br /> Groundwater monitoring and sampling was conducted on February 18, 1992 by RESNA <br /> personnel Water level measurements were collected from each monitoring well using a Solinst <br /> Water Level Meter (Model 101) Groundwater monitoring of wells MW1, MW2,� and MW3 <br /> showed an increase in the groundwater table elevation since last monitoring in August 1991, <br /> averaging 0 32 feet (Attachment 1) Table 1 summarizes groundwater elevation information <br /> A groundwater gradient map was created using the February 18, 1992 data The groundwater <br /> gradient is approximately 0 027 feet/feet or 142 feet/mile in a northeast direction (Figure 2 } <br /> Prior to sampling, 3 to 5 well volumes of water were purged from each well All purged water <br /> was pumped into an onsite baker tank for future treatment Groundwater samples were collected <br /> from three wells after stabilization of pH, electrical conductivity (EC) and temperature The <br /> samples were collected using a dedicated, disposable bailer The samples were sent to state- <br /> certified RESNA Environmental Laboratories in Fremont, California All samples were <br /> analyzed for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes (BTEX) using EPA method 8020/ 602, total <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) and diesel (TPHd) using modified EPA method <br /> 8015 <br /> Petroleum hydrocarbons and BTEX constituents were not detected in monitoring wells MW2 and <br /> MW3 However, MW 1 contained a detectable TPHg level of 120 ppb No aromatics were <br /> iQR051192 MAD <br /> i <br />
