• 8 Q WASTE MANAGEMENT <br /> Drill cuttings are stored on site and covered by 6 mil plastic sheeting Proper disposal <br /> procedures will be implemented pending regulatory agency approval The drilling augers were <br /> steam cleaned prior to drilling each boring All nnseate is containerized in DOT approved <br /> containers and left on site pending approval of disposal procedures <br /> 9 D CONCLUSIONS <br /> To assess groundwater quality and to determine the groundwater gradient beneath the site, three <br /> monitoring wells were drilled to a total depth of approximately 77 feet below grade. <br /> Groundwater was encountered during drilling activities at approximately 62 feet The <br /> groundwater gradient, as determined from the monitoring wells and groundwater elevations, is <br /> in a northerly direction at approximately 0 03 feet/feet or 153 feet/mile <br /> x Analyzed soil samples collected at the soiilgroundwater interface determined that only toluene <br /> was detected above method detection limits Toluene concentrations ranged from 0 015 to 0 023 <br /> mg/kg To accurately determine groundwater quality beneath the site, groundwater samples <br /> were collected on May 7, dune 21, and August 22, 1991 Laboratory results of all analyzed <br /> groundwater samples determined that petroleum hydrocaibons were only detected in monitoring <br /> wells MW1 and MW2 Laboratory analyses of the August 22, 1991 samples determined that <br /> only benzene was detected above method detection limits, 0 41 and 0 63 µgel, respectively <br /> I �* <br /> From all sampling rounds, no constituents were present above Maximum Contaminant levels <br /> established by the State Department of Health Services <br /> w. <br /> The source of impaction has been removed Based on the information provided concentrations <br /> of dissolved petroleum constituents in groundwater are below the State MCLS and do not warrant <br /> active remediation at this time <br /> M-L S A '- 367 <br /> L31W?9, 8 <br />
