Fremont St., Stockton, CA
I
Dear Mr. Souva:
Upon review of the site geologic condition, soil sample test results and groundwater sample test
results from the groundwater monitoring, we believe it is valuable to perform some basic
geophysical testing on selected soil cores collected from our last drilling: This Work Plan
outlines the work proposed to obtain geophysical data. This information will 'be used in
preparing a site closure report. Geological Technics Inc. believes this sitewill be a candidate
for closure by early summer.
The purpose of gathering geophysical analysis is to incorporate quantitative soil characteristics
data on two sandy layer and the thick clay unit at this site and to evaluate th'e potential for these
sedimentary units to either transport or to be a barrier to migration' of the petroleum
hydrocarbon contaminant. This information will be used to expedite site characterization in
anticipation of site closure.
a
The soil sample testing work will include:
• Select one soil sample from three lithologically distinct layers encountered during drilling
the borehole for the monitoring well installation. These soil cores have been stored at
N: Geological Technics under secure environment, capped, sealed, and labeled.'-'
N (Refer to the attached log of MW-101)
Depth ftDescription
o 20.5-21 gravely, silty sand
n} o 25.5-26 clayey sand
t o 40.5-41 gravely, silty, dense clay
• These three soil samples will be sent to Cooper Testing Labs for the following analyses:
o Dry Bulk Density
o Porosity
o Permeability
o Total Organic Carbon
o Hydraulic Conductivity
• Prepare and submit a Risk Evaluation and Appendix B Site Closure Checklist Report as..a
formal request for site closure.
