Fremont Street
Stockton, California
Project No. 989.2
' November 14, 2003
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
' This report summarizes the 3`1 Quarter 2003 groundwater monitoring work that took place
at Valley Wholesale Drug Company on September 2, 2003.
The average groundwater elevation increased by approximately 0.48 feet since the May
2003 monitoring event. The groundwater elevation is consistent with previously recorded
groundwater elevations at the site. Site-specific groundwater gradients were calculated and
rindicate a bearing of N38°E with a slope of 0.0051 ffltf. Groundwater flow direction and
slope have remained relatively consistent since August of 1995.
Laboratory analysis of the groundwater samples collected during the September 2003
monitoring event show the presence of BTEX and TPH-G in MW-1 and MW-4. A trace
level of total xylenes was present in MW-3. BTEX constituents were not found in any other
monitoring well during this groundwater-monitoring event. TPH-G was below detectable
limits in all remaining monitoring wells. Six of the site's nine monitoring wells showed the
presence of MTBE at low concentrations.
A plot of TPH-G vs. groundwater elevation for MW-1 indicates that the concentrations of
1 TPH-G fluctuate with groundwater elevation and that the overall TPH-G concentration has
decreased significantly in the past seven years of monitoring (Chart: MW-1). A plot of
MTBE vs. groundwater elevation for MW-6 indicates that the concentrations of MTBE
