Fremont Street
Stockton, California
Project No. 989.2
' January 15, 2003
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This report summarizes the 4" Quarter 2002 groundwater monitoring work that took place
at Valley Wholesale Drug Company on November 19, 2002.
The average groundwater elevation. decreased 0.55 feet from the September 26, 2002
monitoring event. The groundwater elevation is one of the lowest recorded at the site.
Groundwater flow was north-northwesterly with a slope of 0.0039 ft/ft. Groundwater flow
' direction and slope have remained consistent since August of 1995.
Laboratory analysis of the groundwater samples collected during the November 2002
' monitoring event show the presence of BTEX and TPH-G in MW-1 and MW-4. Trace
amounts of BTEX constituents were found in MW-3. BTEX constituents were not found in
any other well during this monitoring event. TPH-G was below detectable limits in all
remaining monitoring wells. Monitoring wells MW-1, MW-4, MW-5, MW-6, MW-8 and
MW-9 have low levels of MTBE present.
' A plot of TPH-G vs. groundwater elevation for MW-1 indicates that the concentrations of
TPH-gasoline fluctuate with groundwater elevation and that the overall TPH-G
concentration has decreased significantly in the past seven years of monitoring (Chart 1).
