GTI personnel
searching for evidence of production, domestic and monitoring wells walked a 500-foot
radius around the site. No evidence of pressure tanks, pumps or pump houses were
' observed in residences and businesses in the search area.
The Stockton Deep Water Channel is located at the southern end of the 500-foot search
radius. The Stockton Deep Water Channel and the Mormon Slough are receptors located
within a 2000-foot radius of the site.
' The physical search was extended to a 2,000-foot radius surrounding the site. GTI
personnel investigated this area by driving the streets within the search area and walking the
' area looking for evidence of existing wells. No evidence of domestic, city or production
wells was observed during the investigation. Metered water boxes were located along
sidewalks and alleyways within the search area.
1.2 Other Resources
The Department of Water Resources (DWR) in Sacramento, California, was asked to review
their archives for well driller's logs encompassing a 2,000-foot radius around the 1401 West
Fremont Street, Stockton, California location. Records obtained from the Department of
' Water Resources were reviewed by GTI personnel.
' Review of DWR records suggested there were five monitoring wells located within the
2000-foot search radius. A physical investigation of these sites revealed no evidence of the
existence of these wells. The results of the investigation are recorded in Table 2 and the
DWR records are attached as Appendix B.
California Water Service Company (CWSC) located at 1550 West Fremont Street handles
' the domestic and business water needs in the area of Valley Wholesale Drug Company. GTI
personnel interviewed Paul Risso of the CWSC on August 30, 2002. Mr. Risso reviewed
his records and told GTI that there are no active municipal supply wells within a 2000-foot
' radius of Valley Wholesale Drug Company.
Review of the Groundwater Monitoring Report — 2"d Quarter 2002 indicates groundwater
below the site generally flows in a northwesterly direction. Review of historical
groundwater monitoring events indicates the groundwater gradient ranges from 0.0044 to
0.0095ft/ft, averaging 0.0062ft/ft (Table 1). Well construction details, including on and off
site monitoring wells associated with the Valley Wholesale Drug Company site are included
as Table 3.
