Fremont Street <br /> Stockton, California <br /> Project No 989 2 <br /> ' August 10, 2005 <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> Valley Wholesale Drug Company, Inc (VWDC) is located at 1401 W Fremont Street, <br /> Stockton, California The property is located in the southwestern part of the City of <br /> Stockton, almost directly beneath 1-5 The Stockton Deepwater Channel is approximately <br /> ' one block to the south, near the terminus of Mormon Slough A map showing the area <br /> around the site is attached as Figure 1 <br /> ' Two (2) 1,000-gallon USTs were installed at the site in June of 1974 The tanks were used to <br /> fuel both company and personal vehicles for business purposes <br /> On June 8, 1994, Thorpe Oil Company removed two (2) 1,000-gallon USTs along with a fuel <br /> dispenser and associated piping, which had been used for storing and dispensing unleaded <br /> ' gasoline There was a strong petroleum odor noted during the excavation and removal of the <br /> tanks as well as soil discoloration <br /> In October of 1994, approximately 128 cubic yards of contaminated soil was removed from <br /> t the site and disposed of at a licensed landfill Soil samples were taken and the hole was filled <br /> with clean material, and capped with asphalt Details of the work are discussed in William J <br /> Hunter & Associates (Hunter) report Interim Report Covering Results of Soil Contamination <br /> Investigation Valley Wholesale Drugs—January 3, 1995 <br /> ' The Hunter report Interim Report Covering Results of Soil Contamination Investigation <br /> Valley Wholesale Drugs —October 11, 1995 discusses the installation of three (3) monitoring <br /> . wells and three (3) soil borings at the site <br />
