Box 127
Richmond, CA 94807
Attention: Mr. Steve Pao
r Re: Soil Sampling Report
Mobil Terminal
3505 Navy Drive
Stockton. California
Dear Mr. Pao:
This report summarizes the soil sampling performed by Kaprealian
Engineering, Inc. (KEI) at the referenced site. The work was
performed in compliance with the request of Mr. Doug Wilson of
the San Joaquin Local Health District. All work was performed in
compliance with our proposal dated September 25, 1987 .
The scope of work performed by KEI consisted of the following:
Coordination with the San Joaquin Local Health District and
acquisition of drilling permit.
Drilling and Soil Sampling.
Soil analysis at a certified Labratory.
Preparation of this report.
The purpose of the soil sampling at the site was to determine if
a 550 gallon underground heating oil tank can be abandoned in
place. In situ abandonment was chosen because of the risk that
excavation would pose to existing property and utilities. The
locations of the tank and the boring are shown on the attached
Location Plan.
On October 29, 1987 a 45 degree angle boring was drilled adjacent
to the tank to a depth of 10 . 5 feet. Two soil samples were
collected from beneath the tank, one at a depth of 6.75 feet and
one at a depth of 10. 5 feet as shown on the attached sketch.
