' 1.1 Quality Control Data Review
This appendix presents Earth Tech's quality control data review for this sampling event. The
quality control data review was performed by an Earth Tech chemist.
ro
The quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) program includes using standard sample
collection procedures in the field and established analytical methods in the laboratory.Laboratory
and field QC sample results were evaluated to assess the quality of individual sample results and
overall method performance. Analytical performance was evaluated on the basis of both
individual samples and QC batches (groups of samples prepared and analyzed together). The data
evaluation of four groundwater samples collected during the June 2008 sampling event included a
review of the following:
• Sample integrity(chain-of-custody documentation, sample preservation,and holding
time compliance)
Blanks(method,field,equipment, and trip blanks)
' • Spikes(surrogates,laboratory control samples,and matrix spikes)
• Duplicates(laboratory control spikes, matrix spikes, and field duplicates)
Lab qualifiers(to determine impact on sample results)
Groundwater samples were analyzed for the following analytes during this sampling event:
' CAM-17 metals, N-Nitrosodimethylamine by modified EPA Method 607, volatile organic
hydrocarbons (VOCs), and semi-volatile organic hydrocarbons (SVOCs). The results of the data
evaluation are summarized below.
1.1.1 Sample Integrity
lete and consistent. Samples were preserved as
Chain-of-custody documentation was comp
required per method specifications. All samples were analyzed within method-specified holding
times.
1.1.2 Blanks
A method blank consists of deionized water carried through each step of the analysis with the
environmental samples for each parameter and QC batch. A trip blank is a vial filled with
deionized water that accompanies the groundwater samples throughout the sampling event. No
analytes were detected in method blank or trip blank samples.
