All other analytes reported in ug/L
MW-1 contained 165 mg/L of gasoline, 4,630 ug/L of benzene and 46 ug/L of MTBE.
The concentrations of benzene and MTBE are significantly above the State allowable
levels for those two chemicals. MWA also contained 71 ug/L of EDB and 538 ug/L of
1,2-DCA. This quarter, MW-1 contained the highest concentration of contamination.
The groundwater sample collected from MW-2 showed the presence of 16 ug(L of
benzene, 141 ug/L of MTBE and 350 ug/L of 1,2-DCA. This concentration of benzene is
above the State allowable limit of 1.0 ug/L as is the concentration of MTBE. The
concentration of MTBE in the water sample collected from MW-3 was 5.4 and the
concentration of 1,2-DCA was 998. The concentration of MTBE at 5.4 is below the-S.tate_._A-L'4- Z'
allowable limit for that constituent. The concentration of benzene in MW-4 was also
significantly above the State allowable limit at a concentration of 339 ug/L. MTBE was
present in the water sample collected from MW-4 at a concentration of 27 ug/L.
Appendix A contains the laboratory analytical data and Chain of Custody report.
The monitoring wells will be measured, purged and sampled again next quarter, and a
new gradient calculated. The 55-gallon drums containing the soil from the borings will
be disposed before the next quarterly groundwater monitoring event. The soil has been
sampled in a composite form for profiling and is being analyzed by GeoAnalytical
Laboratories in Modesto, California. The soil will be taken to Forward Landfill, Inc.,
located in Manteca, California for disposal.
2
