dIr <br /> • i HORIZON ENVIRONMENTAL INC. <br /> Specialists in Site Assessment Remedial Testing Design and Operation <br /> • <br /> December 20, 2005 <br /> Mr Mike Karvelot <br /> Quik Stop Markets Inc <br /> 4567 Enterprise Street <br /> Fremont, California 94538 <br /> Subject Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report <br /> Fourth Quarter 2005 _ <br /> Quik Stop Station No 039 <br /> 2285 East Fremont Street, Stockton, California <br /> Mr Karvelot <br /> Horizon Environmental Inc (Horizon) has prepared this report which documents fourth <br /> quarter 2005 groundwater monitoring at the subject site located in San Joaquin County as <br /> shown on Figure 1 There are currently six groundwater monitoring wells (MW-1 <br /> through MW-6) associated with this site, as shown on Figure 2 Monitoring wells MW-1 <br /> through MW-5 are located within property boundaries, while MW-6 is located to the east <br /> of E Street <br /> Groundwater Monitoring <br /> Groundwater monitoring activities were conducted by Horizon on November 16, 2005 <br /> according to Horizon Field Methods and Procedures (Attachment A) Monitoring <br /> activities included measurement of static groundwater level, purging groundwater from <br /> the wells, collection of groundwater samples, disposal of purge water, and preparation <br /> and delivery of the samples to the analytical laboratory <br /> The depth to groundwater was measured to the nearest 0 01 foot from the top-of-casing <br /> (TOC) in monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-6 The groundwater physical parameters <br /> conductivity, pH and temperature were monitored with field instrumentation during the <br /> purging process The visual characteristics of turbidity and presence of free product or <br /> sheen if any, and the obvious olfactory characteristics of the groundwater were also noted <br /> during the purging process Field groundwater level and purge data were recorded on <br /> Monitoring Well Data sheets (Attachment B) <br /> Groundwater samples were collected from groundwater monitoring wells MW-1 through <br /> MW-6 and were submitted, under chain-of-custody documentation, to Kiff Analytical <br /> LLC (Kiff), a California Department of Health Services-certified analytical laboratory <br /> (ELAP No 2236) located in Davis, California The samples were analyzed for total <br /> petroleum hydrocarbon as gasoline (TPHg), the volatile aromatic compounds benzene, <br /> toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX), the fuel oxygenates methyl-t-butyl ether <br /> (MTBE), diisopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl-t-butyl ether (ETBE), tert-amyl methyl ether <br /> 4970 Windplay Drive #C5 • EI Dorado Hills CA 95762 • (916)939-2170 • FAX(916) 939-2172 <br /> PO Box 5283 • Bakersfield CA 93388 • (661)589-8389 • FAX(661)589-1456 <br />
