i HORIZON ENVIRONMENTAL INC. <br /> Specialists in Site Assessment Remedial Testing Design and Operation <br /> RESULTS OF <br /> ADDITIONAL SUBSURFACE INVESTIGATION <br /> at <br /> Quik Stop Station No 39 <br /> 2285 East Fremont Street <br /> Stockton, California <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of Quik Stop Markets (Quik Stop), Horizon Environmental Inc (Horizon) has <br /> prepared this report for the Quik Stop Station No 39 located in Stockton, California This <br /> report documents the results of an additional subsurface investigation to evaluate the extent <br /> . of dissolved 1,2-dichloroethane in groundwater and presents the findings of a sensitive <br /> receptor survey The investigation was directed by the San Joaquin Environmental Health <br /> Department (SJEHD) in a letter dated June 24, 2002 (Appendix A) as a necessary step for <br /> evaluation of the site for"no further action required" status <br /> The evaluation of the lateral and vertical extent of dissolved 1,2-dichloroethane (DCA) in <br /> groundwater was conducted in two phases The initial phase of this additional subsurface <br /> investigation consisted of cone-penetrometer (CPT) sail profile logging and collection of <br /> hydropunch groundwater samples at various locations and depths in order to appropriately <br /> site additional monitoring wells Results of the initial phase and recommendations for <br /> monitoring well installation were documented in Results of Additional Subsurface <br /> Investigation and Work Plan Addendum dated February 14, 2003 This report is intended to <br /> comply with the California Regional Water Quality Control Board Tri Regional Guidelines, <br /> dated April 16, 2004 and SJEHD guidelines <br /> a <br /> 4970 Windplay Drive #C5 • EI Dorado Hills CA 95762 • (916)939-2170 • FAX(916)939-2172 <br /> PO Box 5283 • Bakersfield CA 93388 • (661)589-8389 • FAX(661)589-1456 <br />
