CAMBRIA <br /> Cambria performed research to identify properties within i/a-rile of the subject site that may <br /> have environmental impact The preliminary findings of this research indicate a service station <br /> used to occupy the property immediately north of the Shell site These findings are discussed <br /> further below <br /> We have obtained one access agreement and the city encroachment peanut for the pending <br /> investigation work We have been unable to secure access agreements for two of the parcels <br /> where we have planned to drill sort borings (SB-23, SB-24, S13-26, SB-27, and SB-28) in our <br /> next phase of investigation It appears we may need help from SJCEHD in obtaining the <br /> remaining access agreements (parcel numbers 141-24-23 and 143-43-49) One of these parcels <br /> (the former service station) is located immediately north of the Shell site We have contact <br /> information for these parcels and can provide this information to EHD if it is needed <br /> ANTICIPATED SECOND QUARTER 2004 ACTIVITIES <br /> Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Blaine will gauge and sample the site wells according to <br /> • the existing sampling schedule and tabulate the data Cambria will prepare a groundwater <br /> monitoring report <br /> Site Investigation• Site investigation activities will continue as soon as we have obtained the <br /> needed access agreements The remaining investigative activity to complete is the drilling of the <br /> offsite soil borings <br /> PRELIMINARY FINDINGS OF OFFSITE RESEARCH <br /> Cambria reviewed research material prepared by Environmental Data Resources, Inc (EDR) <br /> which indicates a service station was present on the property located immediately north of the <br /> Shell site This information was obtained from the Polk City Directory, which were researched <br /> on an approximate five-year interval The city directory lists the property address 2491 East <br /> Fremont Street as a service station during the years 1960, 1967, and 1972 The property is <br /> currently occupied by Valverde's Mexican Restaurant and Fremont Beauty Salon A copy of the <br /> EDR.City Directory Abstract is included as Appendix B <br /> The property at 2491 East Fremont Street is one of the parcels for which we have not yet <br /> obtained an access agreement We have proposed three soil borings be drilled on this parcel to <br /> . investigate the extent of 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA)north of the Shell site Now that we have <br /> 0797 2 <br />
