CAMBRIA <br /> February 28, 1998 <br /> Mr Michael Infurna <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> P O Box 388 <br /> Stockton, California 95201-0388 <br /> Re Work Plan <br /> Shell Service Station v <br /> 2494 E Fremont Street / <br /> Stockton, California <br /> WIC #204-7524-1806 ` <br /> Dear Mr Infurna <br /> This work plan has been prepared by Cambria Environmental Technology, Inc (Cambria) on <br /> behalf of Shell Oil Products Company to further investigate the extent of petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons previously identified in soil at the above referenced site This work plan was <br /> requested in a December 29, 1997 letter from San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> (SJCPHS) and will comply with SJCPHS and Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) 1 <br /> guidelines <br /> Site Description and Background <br /> The subject property is located on the southwest corner of the intersection of Filbert Street and <br /> Fremont Street The site is an operating Shell service station with two underground gasoline <br /> CAMBRIA storage tanks, one underground waste oil tank, four dispenser islands, and a station building <br /> (Plates 2 and 3) <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL <br /> i <br /> TECHNOLOGY,INC Soil samples were collected during an underground storage tank (UST), product line, and fuel <br /> dispenser replacement project in April 1996 Total Purgeable Petroleum Hydrocarbons <br /> 270 PERKINS STREET, quantitated as gasoline (TPPH) were identified primarily in shallow soils beneath the northern- <br /> PO Box 259 most dispenser island near Fremont Street at concentrations ranging from 18 ppm to 6,800 ppm <br /> at depths between 3 and 5 feet below grade (fbg) Benzene concentrations in this area ranged <br /> SONOMA, from none detected (ND) to 9 2 ppm <br /> CA 95476 <br /> An elevated concentration of methyl-tertiary-butyl-ether (MTBE) was detected in soil sample <br /> 9354&50 SE-8 which was collected from the former UST excavation at a depth of 19 fbg The MTBE <br /> FAX(707}9356649 <br />
