Utility Clearance Proposed drilling locations will be marked and their locations cleared through <br /> Underground Services Alert (USA) prior to drilling <br /> Site Investigation One exploratory soil boring to be drilled using hollow stem auger drilling <br /> equipment is proposed at the locations shown on Plate 2 A Cambria geologist will supervise the <br /> drilling and describe encountered soils using the Unified Soil Classification System (USCS) Soil <br /> samples will be collected at five foot intervals for lithologic description Soil sample intervals will be <br /> screened in the field for organic vapor by measuring head-space vapors using an organic vapor meter <br /> (OVM) An exploratory boring log will be prepared for each boring Head-space vapor <br /> measurements will be recorded on the logs <br /> Soil samples designated for chemical analysis will be retained in stainless steel or brass tubes The <br /> tubes will be covered on both ends with Teflon sheets and plastic end caps Soil samples will be <br /> labeled, entered onto a chain-of-custody record and placed into a cooler with ice for transport to a <br /> State of California certified laboratory for analysis <br /> Conditional Monitoring Well Installation if the results of the ground water sample from the <br /> proposed boring indicate that petroleum hydrocarbons or oxygenate compounds are present in <br /> • ground water, three ground water monitoring wells will be installed at the locations shown on Plate 2 <br /> I <br /> The proposed soil boring and two additional soil borings will be drilled in the manner described above <br /> and converted to ground water monitoring wells The wells will be constructed of 2-inch threaded <br /> Schedule 40 PVC well casing The sandpack will be placed 1 to 2 feet above the top of the well <br /> screen followed by a 1 foot thick bentonite sea] A cement-grout seal will be placed above the <br /> bentonite seal up to grade Each well will be secured with a locking cap under a traffic rated well box <br /> Wellhead elevations will be surveyed by a State of California licensed surveyor A well completion <br /> f <br /> detail will be prepared for each ground water monitoring well <br /> Chemical Analysis Soil and ground water samples will be analyzed for TPPH according to EPA <br /> Method 8015 (modified), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX), and methyl-tertiary- <br /> butyl-ether (MTBE) compounds according to EPA Method 8020, and oxygenate compounds (TBA, <br /> i MTBE, D1PE, ETBE, and TAME) by EPA Method 8260 <br /> i <br /> Report Preparation Following the receipt of analytical results from the laboratory, Cambria will <br /> prepare a written report describing field procedures, laboratory results, boring logs, and presenting <br /> conclusions <br /> E <br /> s <br /> 240-0797 3 <br />
