C A M B R I A
INVESTIGATION RESULTS
Personnel Present Geologist Scott Lewis directed the drilling activities under the
supervision of California Registered Geologist Joe Neely
Permit Drilling permits were obtained from SJCEHD (Permit numbers
0031809 and 0031810) Copies of the permits are included as
Appendix A
Drilling Company. Gregg Drilling and Gregg InSitu (C57 License Nos 485165 and
656407)
Drilling Dates. November 12 through 22, and December 9 through 13,2002
Drilling Method- Hollow Stem Auger and Cone Penetration Test(CPT)
Sampling Methods Soil types were continuously logged while drilling bonngs
SB-12 through SB-16 and SB-18 using CPT equipment The
isoil types encountered are described on the CPT logs presented
in Appendix B Soil samples from the borings were collected at
varying intervals for potential chemical and headspace analyses
Groundwater samples were collected for chemical analyses
using hydropunch equipment where CPT logs indicated water-
bearing soils occurred Soil types were also logged at five foot
intervals or continuously logged while drilling the well borings
The soil types encountered are described on the boring logs
presented in Appendix B Soil samples from the borings were
collected at varying intervals for headspace analysis
Some groundwater samples could not be collected as planned
due to insufficient groundwater production during sampling
activities We were unable to collect groundwater samples from
the following sample locations SB-13 at 95 fbg, SB-15 at 62
and 72 fbg, SB-16 at 95 fbg, and SB-18 at 95 fbg Soil samples
were not collected from well boring S-1-85 because it was
drilled immediately adjacent to borings SB-4 and SB-5 where
we have previously collected and analyzed soil samples
0797 2
