Vertical definition remains to be made. PHS/EHD recomiriendsat this time the installation of
one monitoring well in the area of the former tank pit. Soil and water samples should be collected and
analyzed for Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons(TPH)as gasoline,TPH as diesel and TPH as kerosene by
EPA Methods 8015m; Benzene,Toluene,Ethylbenzene and Xylene by EPA Method 8020; and Methyl
tertiary Butyl Ether by EPA Method 8260. Quarterly monitoring of the well should be initiated.
Please submit a workplan to PHS/EHD to define the vertical extent of soil contamination in the former
UST area and possible impact to ground water. After the vertical extent has been determined, the lateral
extent can be evaluated.
Please conduct a survey3and provide the location of all agricultural, industrial, domestic, municipal and
other wells within a 2000 foot radius of this site in the work plan. The construction of these wells, if
known, should also be provided.
If you have any questions or commesits please contact Lori Duncan at(209)468-0337.
Donna Heran,REBS,Director
Environmental Health Division
C
Lori Duncan,REHS Margarago ,REHS
Site Mitigation Unit Supervisor, Site Mitigation Unit
cc: CVRWQCB-Mark List
Smith Technology Corporation-Jeanne Homsey,P.E. `
f
i
A Division of San Joaquin County Hcalch Care Services 9F
