1 .0 INTRODUCTION <br /> ' Lee & Pierce, Inc. (Lee & Pierce) has prepared this work plan on behalf of Fremont Gate <br /> LLC to outline proposed field methods to remove vadose zone soil contamination at the Site, <br /> ' located at 2911 E. Fremont Street, Stockton, California. The site location is presented on Figure <br /> 1. <br /> ' The proposed scope of work was developed based on investigations conducted at the site <br /> t by Krazan & Associates, Inc. (Krazan) in May 2010 and by Lee & Pierce in October 2010, the <br /> results of which are summarized in a letter report dated January 16, 2011, which was submitted <br /> ' to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(EHD). <br /> 2.0 BACKGROUND <br /> ' The property consists of roughly 3.84 acres encompassing San Joaquin County <br /> ' Assessor's Parcel Numbers (APNs) 143-080-55 and 143-080-57. The property is relatively flat <br /> and sits at an elevation of approximately 25 feet above mean sea level, in an area of Stockton, <br /> ' California zoned for commercial, business. <br /> The property currently houses an equipment rental service company, United Rentals, and <br /> includes a structure of approximately 30,000 square feet, an exterior storage yard, paved parking <br /> areas, and landscaped grounds. The structure contains an inactive equipment wash area with <br /> associated drains and a clarifier in the southernmost '/3 of the building, and an active wash rack, <br /> drains and a clarifier in the northernmost '/3 of the building. The wash racks, drains, and <br /> ' clarifiers are reportedly connected to the municipal sewer system. Figure 2 presents a site <br /> plan/aerial photograph showing the primary features of the site. <br /> ' Shallow groundwater beneath the site occurs at a depth of approximately 55 feet below <br /> ' ground surface(bgs).
