The.soil boring was-located in the former tank pit area. <br /> Chevron performed'this investigation,in respons.a to:letters from the Central,.Valley:Regional Water <br /> Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB}.and Sari Joaquin County' (SJC) dated July 30; 1991 and August. <br /> 30,- 1991, respectively. . The CVRWQCB;,requested .the soil investigation along::with groundwater <br /> monitoring events iri the fall of 1991,and.the spring of 1992. The letter front the CVRWQCBwent <br /> on to state: that "if, the groundwater and .soil sample; results .have non-detectable or otherwise <br /> acceptable levels of contamination, we_may then.close,this.site: <br /> Soil samples were obtained every five feet-from a depth:of twenty, feet down to-the groundwater table.' <br /> None=of the samples contained detectable levels of, total purgeable hydrocarbons (TPH-Gas) or <br /> BTEX constituents with the exceptiori of the-.sample at 70 feet which contained:only 0.013 ppm total' <br /> xylenes. <br /> Groundwater monitoring, on October-,18, 1991 did not detect any TPH-Gas or BTEX. Alton <br /> Geoscience will be monitoring-.the groundwater again within the. next week or two.
